Please join the Seven Canyons Trust for the Festival Day at the annual Get Into The River Festival. Celebrate the Jordan River corridor with your family and friends at a team race to explore the conditions of our hydrology in the Salt Lake Valley from pristine headwaters to buried creeks and channelized canal to meandering river.
Teams will consist of a biker, boater, and runner. Participants will race from the Wasatch Mountains to the Jordan River, exploring the current conditions in which these urban waters exist, range to river. Participants will follow the path of City Creek via bikes donated by GREENbike, continuing as the creek gets buried underground and ending at the creek’s confluence with the Jordan River, the historic Utah State Fairpark property. Participants will then boat the Jordan River northward with canoes donated by Splore, following the river from a channelized canal to a meandering, healthy river. The Jordan River Parkway, a 45-mile nearly-continuous paved trail, will be utilized for the final stretch of the race, running past native cottonwoods and willows, as well as invasive Russian olive and Scotch thistle.
This event will end at the GITR @ NIGHT event, held at the Utah State Fairpark. Participants will need to register for this event with their team of 3 participants. Click below to register:
