The boat launch will begin at 10 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Plan to take about 3 hours round-trip.

The event will take place at the Northwest Middle School, 1730 West 1700 North, Salt Lake City, UT 84116 in Salt Lake County. Parking will be available at the school and participants will walk across the street to the put-in. Tours of the Legacy Nature Preserve will be available for participants bringing their own canoes or kayaks. Participants and their equipment will then be shuttle back to their cars. A limited number of canoes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please join North Salt Lake and Davis County for the Festival Day at the annual Get Into The River Festival. Celebrate the Jordan River corridor with your family and friends at the Legacy Parkway in Davis County. A limited number of canoes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The public is invited to bring their own canoes and kayaks to tour the Legacy Nature Preserve! Participants will paddle themselves 4 to 5-miles into the Legacy Nature Preserve, a 2,100-acre pristine, wetland ecosystem home to 100 migratory bird species, including countless numbers of ducks, shorebirds, sparrows, bald eagles, long-billed curlews, short-eared owls, and burrowing owls.  This mosaic of bare mudflats, seasonal wet meadow, deep emergent marshes, meandering open water channels surrounded by lush vegetation and trees, and uplands with tall grasses and shrubs, is usually closed to the public so now is your chance to experience the self-sustaining ecology of the Jordan River in the Legacy Nature Preserve!
