Festival: Great Salt Lake Bird Festival – “Behind the Gates”

Please join the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival for the Festival Day at the annual Get Into The River Festival. Celebrate the Jordan River corridor with your family and friends at the Legacy Parkway in Davis County. The public is invited to bring their own canoes and kayaks to tour the Legacy Nature Preserve! Participants will paddle themselves 4 to 5-miles into the Legacy Nature Preserve, a 2,100-acre pristine, wetland ecosystem home to 100 migratory bird species, including countless numbers of ducks, shorebirds, sparrows, bald eagles, long-billed curlews, short-eared owls, and burrowing owls.  This mosaic of bare mudflats, seasonal wet meadow, deep emergent marshes, meandering open water channels surrounded by lush vegetation and trees, and uplands with tall grasses and shrubs, is usually closed to the public so now is your chance to experience the self-sustaining ecology of the Jordan River in the Legacy Nature Preserve!

Participants must sign-up. The tour will be limited to 10 participants. Click the button below to signup:
